FAQs

What should I wear on the ride?

Long pants and closed-toe shoes are recommended. We also suggest layering as the weather in the Rocky Mountains can change quickly.

What do I need to bring with me on the ride?

We suggest that you bring just water and a camera.

What happens if it rains?

We will ride depending on how severe the rain is.
Please DO NOT bring ponchos. You will only be allowed to ride with a raincoat.

Are helmets provided?

Helmets are provided but not required. We recommend children 12 and under wear helmets.

How old do you have to be to ride a horse?

Children 6 and above can ride their own horse if they are big enough (determined at the discretion of the stable). Children less than 2 shouldn’t and are not allowed to ride.

Is water available?

We do sell bottled water at several of our locations. We recommend you bring your own bottle just in case we run out.

Is trotting allowed?

For the safety of our guests and horses, trotting is not allowed. It’s much more enjoyable to walk your horse on a scenic mountain trail, anyway.

Do you have weight restrictions?

No, we have no specific weight restrictions. Please read here for more information.

Can you ride double (two people in one saddle)?

We are no longer able to accommodate doubles.
